HOCKEY NOVA SCOTIA PROOF OF FULL VACCINATION UPDATE

Good afternoon everyone,

As of today, Phase 1 of the province’s reopening plan has been adjusted to end the requirement to show proof of full vaccination before participating in non-essential, discretionary events and activities such as sport.

As we have worked with our partners at the province throughout the pandemic to align with the guidelines of Public Health, we will also be lifting the Hockey Nova Scotia COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Effective today, Hockey Nova Scotia members are no longer required to provide proof of full vaccination to take part in Hockey Nova Scotia-sanctioned activities.

Associations and leagues are reminded that Hockey Canada and Hockey Nova Scotia regulations require competitive-level teams that will play toward a provincial, regional, or national championship to be registered with their teams by Feb. 10.

Teams or programs that do not play towards a provincial, regional, or national championship (e.g.: C-level teams, U7, First Shift, etc.) and are able to accommodate players on their rosters at this point in the season can do so at the association or program's discretion.

As we continue to move through the provincial reopening plan, we encourage our members to wash their hands frequently, practice physical distancing, and wear masks at all times while not on the ice.

Yours in Hockey,

Amy Walsh

Hockey NS Update Feb 24, 2022

Hello Everyone,

Please see the latest update(link below) from HNS released after the Public Health announcement yesterday.

Please note- not all facilities are following the same restrictions and may require some/or remain the same- Public Health measures- like Proof of Vaccination. Please familarize yourself with the areans you are visiting, to avoid any dissapointment on arrival.

One to make note of- Dauphinee Centre (SMU) is keeping restrictions after March 7, any changes will be communicated as SMU releases them.

Masks are still mandatory, no food or drink in the arena and each group will continue to have 2 dressing rooms for each booking.

Updated Close Contact Information from Hockey Nova Scotia

Please find updated "close contact" information from Hockey Nova Scotia under the COVID-19 tab on our website.

In summary it details that in the event of a COVID case on your team or against someone you have a game against, the entire team is not considered a "close contact", but rather only those that have been within 6 feet for a continuous period of 15 miniutes (e.g. if you sat close to someone in the dressing room for at least 15 minutes).

The details are here.

Go Chebucto!
