Lions Arena COVID protocols

Hi Folks,

There is some new information regarding COVID protocols at Lions arena. Other facilities may differ.

  • Lions will be allowing participants (players and coaches) into the facility 20 minutes prior to events for which we have the ice rented. The team safety representatives will be responsible to ensure that their teams (players and coaches) all have proof of vaccination status in accordance with HNS directives. For our home games it will be our responsibility to get this confirmation specifically from the visiting teams safety representatives, or staff.

  • Tell your team and staff to make sure they carry proof with them.

  • Spectators will be allowed in after participants have entered however it will be the team Safety representatives responsibility to ensure all spectators who enter have shown valid proof of vaccination. Proof must be carried with the individual (phone, paper, etc..) in case of random checks by province ( we’ve heard some rumors of this occurring..I don’t want any of our members to get a fine.) No Safety Rep, No spectators.

  • Once all spectators have entered Lions arena staff will lock the door until the beginning of the next session. Everyone in the facility for the previous session will exit through the side door as was done last year. For those of you familiar with Centennial Arena this is the same practice used there.

  • Masks must be worn by spectators in the facility however food and drink ( e.g. coffee) will be allowed inside and masks can only be removed to, for example, take a sip of coffee, etc. Mask requirements “in the field of play” remain as per HNS rebound plan guidelines.

If you are a team manager or safety person who has not specifically recieved an invite (based on our growing staff list...) please send me an email and I'll forward the meeting to you.

Cheers
