CMHA Call for Coaches for 2026-27 Season

As we prepare for the 2026–27 hockey season, Chebucto Minor Hockey is now accepting applications from individuals interested in coaching within our programs.

Please apply at this link/form here.

Strong coaching is about much more than systems, drills and winning games. Our coaches play an important role in creating the environment our players experience every time they come to the rink. We are looking for coaches who are committed to player development while also demonstrating the values we expect throughout CMHA: respect, integrity, responsibility, teamwork and care for others.

We encourage applications from experienced coaches as well as parents and community members who are interested in becoming more involved. CMHA will support coaches in completing the appropriate Hockey Canada certification and development requirements for their level.

Even if you are unsure whether coaching is for you, we encourage you to apply. Building a strong hockey program requires good people who want to make a positive difference for our players.

Thank you to everyone who gives their time to make hockey possible at Chebucto. We look forward to another great season at the rink.

Halifax Forum Closure Petition -- Recommendation to Rethink

Hello CMHA Familes,

Please see the attached regarding the closing of the Halifax Forum.

The vote as to what will be happening is going to city council in the fall. We encourage everyone to sign the petition (link below) and share on social media (this will be posted on the CMHAs socials).

The users of the Halifax Forum cannot go 3 years without a viable alternative.

We feel HRM should prioritize building a new 4-pad arena to address the city's growing ice shortage before closing the Forum. This approach would preserve access to ice for thousands of athletes and families while creating the additional capacity our community desperately needs.

Build first. Close later.

It's the solution that creates the least disruption for the minor hockey, ringette, figure skating, recreational, and community groups that rely on the Halifax Forum every day.

Thanks for considering this issue.
