U13AAA Tryouts Start Date - September 15th

U11-U15 Tryout Start Date - September 22nd (U15AA Tryouts are being pushed back a week because the U15 Major Tryouts are starting later this year)

Information for those players trying out for U15 Major, U16AAA, HS, and U18 Major

 Hi,

Just a quick note regarding registration for players who are planning on trying out for U15 Major, U16AAA, HS, or U18 Major.

 There are two options for these players:

 1. Register for Chebucto now. If a player is successful in making a team in one of these leagues without stepping on the ice for tryouts in Chebucto, they will be issued a full refund of all fees. If a player does step on the ice for tryouts in Chebucto, they will be charged the tryout fee, but all other registration fees will be refunded.

 2. Email myself, and our registrar, to inform us that you will be trying out for teams in one of these leagues, and if unsuccessful, will be returning to Chebucto to try out for our competitive teams. Your name will be placed on a list with all other players attempting this, and you can register at the time of your return.

 If you do not choose one of the two options above, you will be charged a $50 administrative fee when registering, or you may not be permitted to register, depending on the time of your return.

Gray Jay is aware of the issue and confirmed it will be corrected by July 19, 2023.

Registration for the 2023-24 Season is OPEN!

·         REGISTRATION OPENING DATE: July 17th, 2023

·         COMPETITIVE REGISTRATION CLOSING DATE: August 21, 2023

·         RECREATION AND U9 REGISTRATION CLOSING DATE: August 30, 2023

·         PRE-SEASON REGISTRATION CLOSING DATE: August 11, 2023

·         U7 REGISTRATION CLOSING DGIATE: SEPT 30, 2023

***NOTE - If you have credits that need to be applied to your account (i.e. 50/50) and you do not see them when you log in please email registrar@Chebuctominorhockey.com.  This likely means I was not able to create or link your account in Gray Jay Pay.  

If you miss the registration deadline, please contact Alicia Payne, registrar@Chebuctominorhockey.com to inquire about space. Some levels may be at capacity and cannot accept any more registration. 

A $50 late fee will be applied to all players wanting to tryout but do not register before the August 21, 2023 deadline.

If you are a new or returning player to CMHA, you can register your player online using GrayJay Pay

Transfers will still have to be moved to the Chebucto registration database before you can register online, if you have moved into the area, begin the registration process online and you will be prompted to complete a transfer form at a certain point.

The Hockey Canada Registry is still your source to review player/coach certifications and register for clinics as usual

All registrations are reviewed and approved by the association registrar. If a registered player is determined to reside outside the Chebucto boundary, the parent will be notified, and registration cancelled/refunded. 

No player with an outstanding balance from the 2022-23 season will be able to register until that has been paid.

Payment Plans

Payment plans by Credit Card/VISA debit are available through GrayJay Pay.

o    Initial payment of 300$ at checkout.  $450 for U13 – U15 competitive, this includes the $150 tryout fee.

o    Payment #2 - September 20, 2023

o    Payment #3 - October 20, 2023

o    Payment #4 – November 20, 2023

Competitive fees

Please note that upon successfully making a competitive team that you will be responsible for a competitive fee.  This fee is determined by what level you play (B, A, AA, etc.).  In past years this fee was collected by your team manager, going forward you will be responsible for paying the fee though GrayJay.  Payments links will be sent when teams have been confirmed. 

Family Discounts

Chebucto is continuing its family discount program for membership. Our discounts are as follows

o    200$ for each registered child after 2 have been registered.

Families are to notify Alicia Payne, registrar@Chebuctominorhockey.com to receive their discount refund or to apply the discount to a player registration

Funding

If you are registering with the assistance of any type of funding program (ie: kidsport/jumpstart) please contact the registrar (Alicia Payne)  before proceeding.  Registrar@chebuctominorhockey.com

Trying out for other teams (IE: Highschool)

If you are participating in tryouts for another team but plan to play with Chebucto if you are not successful, please email Alicia.  Registrar@Chebuctominorhockey.com

Players registering for U24 who are over the age of 21 will have to contact Alicia Payne to register.  registrar@chebuctominorhockey.com

The Preliminary Pre-Season Development schedule is here and sign ups will start this week coming:

Pre-Season Development Schedule

Please Note: While we will make every effort to not completely change the schedule there will likely be some adjustments based on signup numbers. We've built some flexibility into the schedule based on available ice time. The final schedule and player groups will be set very soon after Pre-Season session sign up ends.

Similar to last year for each player and goalie we will be offering two 5 session blocks. 

Participants will be asked to register for each block individually through the Gray Jay Pay site and sign ups will be limited.

All pre-season goalie development sessions will be run and overseen by Upper Echelon Goaltending.

We will also be offering U7 development sessions for sign up and "try hockey" for both new players and new goalies (more on this to follow).

Pre-Season Volunteers:

As always, we are seeking volunteers to help make our Pre-Season development sessions a success. Volunteers help us reduce cost and make these sessions accessable to all while still maintain very high level of quality pre-season instruction. 

We are seeking:

• One Ice Lead Coaches
• On Ice Assistant Coaches (Goalie and Player)
• Dressing Room Monitors 
• Check in Staff
• Goalie Session Shooters

Information about volunteering for Development Sessions below:

Hi Chebucto,

As we are beginning to prepare for our pre-season development sessions we are going to require a number of volunteers both on and off the ice.

 The volunteer positions we are looking for are:

 * On Ice Session Lead/Head Coach - explains drills, keeps timing

* On ice drill lead/Assistant Coach - runs a specific drill in the timeslot ( or assists running drills as appropriate.)

* Dressing room monitors ( male and female)

* Check in/Sign in personnel

* Equipment dropoff and pickup support 

* Assistant Goalie drill runners and shooters 

 There will be a google sign up form to indicate interest coming out shortly along with a schedule and obviously for those interested in coaching and being involved with on ice development this is a great way to meet other coaches and see and meet some of the kids. Volunteering in any capacity is a great way to get to know more of the Chebucto hockey family and something we as a small organization absolutely appreciate and depend on for success.
