Martello Wealth Advisory Inc. – Chebucto Minor Hockey Scholarship

Purpose

Martello Wealth Advisory Inc. is committed to supporting youth in our community by encouraging the pursuit of higher education. In partnership with the Chebucto Minor Hockey Association, Martello Wealth Advisory Inc. has established an annual scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to be awarded to a graduating player who has demonstrated excellence in character, leadership, and commitment to both academics and athletics.

Eligibility

To be considered for the Martello Wealth Advisory Inc. – Chebucto Minor Hockey Scholarship, applicants must:

1. Be a graduating player within the Chebucto Minor Hockey Association (or have played at least 3 seasons within the Chebucto Minor Hockey Association)
2. Be entering a recognized post-secondary program (university, college, trade school, or apprenticeship) in the next academic year.
3. Demonstrate consistent sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for coaches, teammates, officials, and opponents.
4. Have contributed positively to the Chebucto Minor Hockey Association and/or the broader community through leadership, volunteerism, or mentorship.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following:

A completed application form (provided by the Chebucto Minor Hockey Association).

A short-written statement (maximum 500 words) outlining:

1. The personal impact of their hockey experience, and
2. How the lessons learned through hockey will support their educational and career goals.
3. Proof of acceptance or conditional acceptance into a post-secondary program.

Selection Criteria

The scholarship recipient will be selected based on:

1. Demonstrated sportsmanship and leadership qualities.
2. Level of commitment to academics, athletics, and community service.
3. Strength and clarity of the written statement.

Selection Committee

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of representatives from the Chebucto

Minor Hockey Association and one representative from Martello Wealth Advisory Inc. The decision of the  committee will be final.

Award Presentation

The scholarship will be awarded annually at a designated Chebucto Minor Hockey Association event.
