Gretzky Ice available today Oct 13th 7-8:30pm Lions Arena - Cost 20 dollars - 80 minutes. 

Gretzky improved his skills one way; he practiced everyday on an outdoor rink.

With no organized games, no coaches, Gretzky skated and stickhandled for hours experimenting and trying new things. This time is available for young players to just skate and work on any aspect of hockey he or she desires. And most importantly to have fun!

We have some last minute ice availability -- lets get some CMHA skates on it. 

No contact or rough checking permitted!!!

Each player is required to check in with on ice supervisor for each session. Full Hockey Canada Certified equipment required. No outside or private coaches allowed on the ice at anytime. Only CMHA volunteers or coaches permitted. 

Open to any CMHA Player or CMHA alumni playing U15/U18 Major or High School. 

CMHA will provide an on ice supervisor for supervision only.

Limit 40 skaters and 4 goalies - first come and pay / first serve. Cash at the rink or e-transfer to president@chebuctominorhockey.com

Skaters club and Sunday skills are back! Our TD Paul Hunt will be leading all our development sessions.

Sessions start this week:

U11-U18 Skaters club and puck skills Thursday Oct 16th 6-7:30pm Lions $35  (Max 25 skaters)

U11-U13 Core Skills Sunday Oct 19th 10-11am Lions $25 (Max 12 skaters)

Keepers Club is Back!

Keepers Club is back! Registration is open for Oct 12th and 19th!

2025 Goalie Development Programs
 
Keepers Club (Empire Goaltending):
 
Back for another season is Chebuctos Keepers Club running Sundays 10:00 am at LIONS Arena. 
This year we've teamed up with Empire Goaltending to help run our on ice program. All sign ups will be done through the Gray Jay program portal and will generally be available for sign up 1-2 weeks prior to the session.
 

Cost for keepers club will be $30 per session.

To keep supporting opportunities for our U9 Goalies they will have free registration.

All goalies, committed goalies and those who are still exploring the position, are encouraged to try keepers club for some focused training. This being said, to ensure coaches are able to provide a high level of focused goalie training it's requested that any U9 goalies attending keepers club have a minimum of 2 or more practices in goalie gear and are comfortable moving and dressing in the goalie gear before joining keepers club. 
 
If your player is interested in trying goalie, Chebucto has 4 brand new sets of quick change goalie gear for our U9/U7 groups and several sets of the traditional style gear to use/borrow. Please talk to your coaches about coordinating this. The gear is kept in the equipment room at the lions rink. Once your players meet the above criteria for keepers club and want to join, the gear can be borrowed on Saturday after practice, taken home and used for keepers club Sunday. For now, we're asking gear be returned to the equipment room after keepers club to ensure access for all who are interested. 
 
Empire Goaltending is well recognized in goalie coaching and we're fortunate to have them, for free (in U9). All players interested in the position should make it a point to get in the goalie gear for a few practices and then get out to some Keepers Club sessions, they're hugely beneficial to our young goalies. This will be ongoing for the season, so no rush, or hard feeling if registration fills up or gear is unavailable. Speak to your team coach and they will ensure everyone interested gets a chance.

Midway Through Tryouts – Thank You & Reminder

 

Dear CMHA Families,

We are now midway through our tryout process, and I want to thank everyone for their support, patience, and commitment to helping things run smoothly. The energy and dedication shown by our players, parents, and volunteers has been greatly appreciated.

As a reminder, we ask that all communication with our Tryout Volunteers and Technical Director remain respectful. These individuals are working hard to ensure the process is fair, consistent, and well-organized. Any concerns, frustrations, or complaints about tryouts should not be directed toward volunteers or staff at the rink. 

If you have a concern, please use our formal complaint process, which has been established to ensure all matters are handled properly, fairly, and with respect. No complaint will be addressed or investigated unless it has been submitted through this process. You can find the process and submission form here:
