CMHA Announces Pre-Season Conditioning Camps
**NOTE - Programs will fill fast and will carry a maximum number of 25 players to insure proper player, instructor ratio. Please note that all registrations are final. If you are unable to attend a session a refund will only be provided for exceptional circumstances (injury). Refunds are at the discretion of Chebucto Minor Hockey Association.
Preseason Camps 2025 - Registration will open Monday June 30 at 9am and will close on August 18th. Programs will start on September 2 and will run through Sept 14. Programs will be led by our Technical Director Paul Hunt, who has 20 years coaching experience, developing players at the U15 and U18 major levels. Paul has also coached with Hockey Nova Scotia’s High Performance Program which has allowed him to work with players from across the province.
Below is a list of our 2025 pre-season camps. Do not wait to register - camps fill up quickly. We will not be adding additional skaters in order to keep ice times manageable with a strong instructor to player ratio.
All camps will be held at The Forum/Civic.

U18 will be 4 on 4 full ice game play. Goalies can attend at NO CHARGE (Goalies please email Paul Hunt for attendance)

GOALIE DEVELOPMENT
Goalie Sessions are back again and CMHA will be offering 5 hours of instruction led by Brad MacCharles of Empire goaltending and is open to all age groups and skill levels. CMHA is extremely excited to have Brad and the Empire staff back!

U7 FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS
COST $160
The five sessions will cover basic yet essential skating and puck-handling techniques—such as balance, skating stride, starting and stopping, turning, and edge control. The mention of “stance, posture, balance” highlights a focus on proper form and movement, which lays the groundwork for more advanced skills in later stages. The camp also emphasizes fun, both through its tone and approach, recognizing that keeping young kids engaged is just as important as teaching technique.
U9 FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS
COST $160
The 5 sessions will focus on the fundamentals of hockey, giving the U9 player a good base of the basics to build onto for the upcoming season. We will focus on stance, posture, balance, skating stride, stops, starts, turns, edge discovery, and puck handling/shooting.
U11 CORE SKILLS
COST $160
The 5 sessions will have power skating, puck handling, shooting, passing and competing elements built into the camp. We will add some conditioning aspects to the practices as well to prepare players for tryouts. U13 AAA HIGH PACE
COST - $160
The 5 sessions will run from September 2nd to the 10th and will get players ready for the U13 AAA tryouts that commence on Sept 14th. Sessions will be run by our Technical Director and members of the U13AAA coaching staff. These will be high level, high compete, and high intensity practices that are geared towards those trying out for U13AAA. **Goalies needed and can attend at NO CHARGE (Goalies please email Paul Hunt for attendance)
U13 CORE SKILLS

U15 CORE SKILLS

U18 4 ON 4 GAME
COST - $160
5 non contact ice sessions to knock the rust off before tryouts. Sessions will be a mix of full ice conditioning drills, small area skill and small area games.
