Celebrating Successes!

To all Chebucto families,

With a break in the regular season due to the holidays, there are always tournaments going on and this season was no different.

I wanted to take a moment to recognize our U1AA team who competed in the annual Tom Saunders Memorial Tournament hosted by the Halifax Hawks. After completing the round robin, they were able to qualify for the semi finals. After winning this game, they unfortunately came up just short, losing 4-3 to Antigonish in the championship game. Congrats to head coach Daryl MacPherson, his assistants, and all the players on a great showing.

Also, I want to recognize our U11B team who competed in our annual Kyle Henneberry Memorial Tournament at the Lion's Rink. They went undefeated in the round robin and were able to qualify for the semi finals. After defeating Chester, they came up just short, losing to TASA Black in the championship game. Congrats to head coach David Beaver, his assistants, and all the players for having such a great tournament.

Finally, our U15A team competed this past weekend in the Flyers Memorial Tournament hosted by Sackville. After a round robin where they went 3-0, they defeated Western Valley in the semi-finals, moving on to battle the host Sackville team in the finals. In an exciting game, they came out on the losing end of a 4-2 score. Congrats to head coach Craig Messervey, his assistants, and all players on a great weekend.

A reminder to all competitive coaches and managers to email me when teams win tournaments or reach the finals. I try to stay up to date on all teams, but this is not always possible.

Best of luck to all competitive teams as they start the 2nd half of the season and move towards playoffs and provincial qualifiers.
